Department: Safety and Security

Safety and Security provides support to CX subsidiaries in the business scope of Cargo Terminal, Passenger Handling, Ramp Handling, Laundry Services and Catering Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the safety and security initiatives and align the standards with the CX Group and Subsidiaries, including the alignment of the safety and security requirements and corporate quality policy.

  • Formulate and implement strategies in the context of Occupational Health and Safety, protection of premises, guarding of restricted area, intrusion detection, crime prevention, cargo and merchandise security, and aviation security, ensuring the compliance of all local regulations and airlines requirements.

  • Provide leadership and direction for both safety and security functions for the CX Subsidiaries, all contractors and users of the facilities.

  • Monitor the management and compliance of the day-to-day safety and security operations for both the Subsidiary staff and subcontractors, including strategic planning, directing, organizing and controlling.

  • Develop and communicate safety and security strategies and goals/targets, and develop evaluation methodology (e.g. audits) to measure achievements on the goals/targets.

  • Implement on-going safety and security improvement process by determining operational and performance qualifications and establishing safety and security attributes.

  • Engage the stakeholders within internal department, regulatory bodies, contractors, customer airlines and facility users as appropriate.

  • Communicate and co-ordinate with Government Departments on all safety and security related incidents, policies or procedures.

  • Conduct investigations on all safety and security related incidents, policy and procedure violations and criminal activities, and make recommendations to rectify the situation.

  • Develop contingency plans to cater for safety and security incidents.

  • Ensure safety and security trainings are well-delivered to concern parties.

  • Develop and implement Safety Management System (SMS) and Security Management System (SeMS) across all Subsidiaries and their operational departments that ensure a high degree of operational integrity and fitness for the purpose, and ensure its compliance against the statutory requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • University Graduate in related discipline.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in safety and security management in sizeable organization, of which 5 years in management capacity.

  • Experience in disciplinary forces, security system companies and aviation related business would be beneficial.

  • Register Safety Officer, preferably a Registered Safety Auditor under the Labour Department.

  • Experience in contractor management and the implementation of OHSAS18001 and TAPA (FSR) in air cargo terminals, warehouses, factories or airlines would be beneficial.

  • Detail oriented, a self-motivated team player and confident leader.

  • Good communication skill with the ability to articulate ideas effectively.

  • Able to work independently and under pressure.

  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
